Recently a mission team from UK came for a visit. They gave clothes, soccer uniforms, dolls to the children, and spoke to them about Jesus.
It was a big challange for them to see how people are surviving in the tough living conditions of karamoja. It was also like a big suprise to them to see children from 0 – 12 years walking around naked which is mostly due to poverty because their parents are not able to afford to buy clothes for their children.
They also appreciated our ministry and the help that we are giving to the children and adults.
Rainbow Mike says “I am very greatful to God for what he is doing for the people of Kotido.”
Please pray for Rainbow Mike because we recently recieved word that he is ill with Malaria.

The recent searing temperatures in Karamoja have everyone thinking about whether the region will suffer the 8th consecutive year of drught. Rainbow Mike recently said that though they had some good rains for a week or so, the sky has refused to give rain and the crops that people have planted are withering. Though the crops of sorghum and maize could survive, their yields will also be affected by the heat.

With part of the land fenced, Rainbow Mike and the children were able to plant enough greens to supplement their meals. Thank you, God for giving generously to the youth of Kotido that you love.

It’s a day full of joy and singing from my heart to God. I was singing this song: “This is the day that the lord has made, we will rejoice, and be glad in it…”
I met with the
Probation officer this morning ( Monday) and asked if he had visited the DPC again. Suprisingly he just told me that he had wanted to see me today, there and then he gave me the letter authourising me to go and get the boy out of the police costody and the boy was given to me at
2:00pm. It was just as i was shown in the dream when the boy

At the moment Shalom Ministries has been able to find sponsors
for about 30 of 40 children so some of the students hoping to go back for school this term were not able to return. Though there is a little gap still remaining we are confident that God will provide for the children and their needs for he is “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,…” and “I know that the LORD secures justice for the poor and upholds the cause of the needy” (Ps 68:5,140:12). Shown here is a picture of some children who received supplies to attend primary boarding school.
